A Welcome & A Little Baby Bump

Benicia here!  Welcome to Color Me Whimsical-a little space for me to keep track of all the things that inspire me or add a whimsical touch to my life.  Hopefully some of you followed along when I blogged for my former vintage shop at Love Fox.  Now I am preparing for a baby (wowza!) and being a mama!

I believe that soon-to-be mama's can still look super stylish even while pregnant (pregnant women are so beautiful, right!) and that was my mission during my pregnancy.  I refused to wear maternity clothing, except for two pairs of jeans that a friend gifted me (thank god, because sometimes you just wanna wear jeans).  Well, now I am 37 weeks along and still going strong with my fun wardrobe.  For me, it was all about accessorizing with scarfs, beanies, hats, cute boots, belts & jewelry.  Here's a look at some of my dress up days while pregnant & a baby bump flashback!

BB Collage 1

In the beginning, the bump of love was very small & I could still wear anything, including my favorite western-inspired Free People tunic dress.

Autumn was upon us & the bump was growing a bit.  Still wearing my favorite vintage dresses with boots & knitted layers

BB Collage 2

Found this awesome dress at the thrift shop, belted it up & wore my fav wool hat- I love this outfit!

Happiest Collage

Things are getting snugger, so I saved this vintage pillowcase dress from the give-away pile & belted it...I was feeling real good here and relishing the Earth Mama look!

BB Halloween

Halloween-a Zombie bump!

BB Sailor

Getting rounder-wearing an AA dress as a shirt, vintage vest and a pair of 70s flared maternity jeans.

BB Collage 4

A large polka dot dress looks chic belted & paired with a colorful scarf.

BB Collage 5

Christmas time and I am about 35 weeks along, barely fitting into this pale pink shift dress!

37 Weeks Bump

And, this is today!  37 weeks-yay!  Wearing a vintage paisley frock, knitted cap & a pair of Doc Marten's.  I can no longer belt dresses because I wouldn't be able to breath!  I am all about comfort these days, still adding something colorful & whimsical!
